A reflection on how little time we have to do good

Based on a portion of the text assigned for today’s Eucharist from the Gospel on Luke, in which he tells the story about Poor Lazarus and the unnamed rich man who did not help him…and it was too late

  1. What came to mind for me were all the children (and others) who have been killed by gun violence. They are now in the loving arms of their creator. Pondering what will happen when time runs out for those who support weapons of mass destruction. How do we reach out now to stop the madness of killing our children?

Thanks, Lauren. That is top of mind for so many of us, and especially timely given the announcement today that the Diocese of Maryland is promoting the March for Our Lives in Washington DC on March 24. It is important that everyone who can possibly participate in these demonstrations, letter-writing and calls to legislators, do so. When we speak with a united, clear and passionate voice, there is hope that this madness will end.

What do you think?
